Reception and Compliance Officer
Location: Central London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
Pay: £14.80 per hour whilst temporary, increasing to £30,000 - £32,000 per annum upon securing the permanent positionWe are currently recruiting for a Reception and Compliance Officer to join a prestigious commercial office building in Central London.
This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, where you will initially work on a temporary basis before being offered a permanent position, subject to your performance and client approval.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced receptionist or front-of-house professional looking to take on a broader role that combines customer service, building operations, compliance, and facilities coordination within a professional office environment.
The Role
As the first point of contact for tenants, visitors, and contractors, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while supporting the day-to-day operation of the building.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing a professional and welcoming front-of-house service
Managing visitor sign-ins, enquiries, calls, and emails
Coordinating meeting room bookings and ensuring spaces are presented to a high standard
Handling incoming and outgoing post, parcels, and deliveries
Maintaining reception and communal areas to an exceptional standard
Supporting building security procedures and visitor management processes
Monitoring access control systems and maintaining accurate records
Liaising with cleaning, maintenance, and facilities contractors
Reporting maintenance issues, security concerns, and health & safety matters
Assisting with fire evacuations, emergency procedures, and compliance requirements
Providing general administrative support and maintaining building records
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a Receptionist, Front of House, Concierge, or Customer Service role
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A professional, well-presented, and proactive approach
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to multitask and work independently
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable
Experience within a commercial office or property environment
Knowledge of health & safety, compliance, or security procedures
Experience using visitor management or access control systems
