Hours: Full-TimeWe are recruiting an experienced Head Porter for an exclusive residential development in Kensington W14. This key role is perfect for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent resident service standards, and a calm, confident approach - especially when handling high-expectations and firm residents.
Role Summary
As Head Porter, you will lead and manage the porter team, ensuring exceptional front-of-house service and seamless day-to-day operations across the building. You'll be the primary point of contact for residents, contractors and visitors, maintaining high service and security standards at all times.
Key Duties
Lead Porter Team: Supervise, coordinate and motivate the porter/concierge team, managing rotas, performance and daily tasks to ensure consistent coverage and service delivery.
Resident Support & Communication: Serve as a visible, professional point of contact for residents - responding to enquiries, resolving issues with tact and firmness when required, and maintaining excellent relationships.
Front of House & Building Presence: Oversee the porters' desk/entrance area, welcome visitors, manage access control, and ensure communal areas are clean, organised and secure.
Contractor Coordination & Facilities Oversight: Liaise with maintenance teams, cleaners, and external contractors, ensuring tasks are completed professionally and on schedule.
Health & Safety & Security: Conduct routine checks of building systems (CCTV, fire exits, alarms), manage incident reporting, and uphold safety procedures across the site.
Person Specification
Previous experience in a Head Porter, Lead Concierge, or senior front-of-house role - ideally within luxury residential.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively and confidently.
Excellent communication skills, with a professional and dependable demeanour.
A calm, customer-centric approach, able to handle firm residents and challenging situations diplomatically.
Good organisational ability and attention to detail, with a strong sense of duty and accountability.
