The Opportunity
Are you a technically strong repairs surveyor looking for a varied, autonomous role where you can really take ownership of a patch? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established property and housing organisation covering Devon and part of Dorset, carrying out surveys and inspections and making sure homes are safe, well maintained, and compliant.
You'll work closely with contractors and internal teams, managing repairs from identification through to completion with the independence to get on with your work and make decisions on the ground.
The Role

- Conducting property surveys and inspections across the Devon and Dorset patch
- Diagnosing building defects and specifying the correct remedies
- Overseeing subcontracted repair works and holding contractors to account
- Undertaking HHSRS (Housing Health & Safety Rating System) assessments
- Keeping residents and stakeholders informed with clear, accurate communication
- Maintaining excellent records and managing your own workload on a mobile basis
What We're Looking For
You'll be someone who knows their stuff technically, but also understands that great communication and customer care are just as important as the surveying itself.
- HNC in Surveying, Construction & Built Environment (or equivalent Level 4+)
- Strong knowledge of building construction standards and legislation
- Experience carrying out HHSRS assessments
- Solid understanding of responsive repairs, voids works, and planned/cyclical maintenance
- Able to manage a varied, mobile workload independently
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and housing/property management systems
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
- Desirable - RICS (Building Surveying) or MCIOB membership. Level 4 VRQ Certificate in Managing Damp, Mould and Customer Care in Housing
- Background in social housing or a commercially focused property environment
Benefits
- Salary of £47,376
- Agile/field-based working across Devon & Dorset
- Generous holiday allowance with option to buy additional days
- Pension contributions up to 9% employer match
- Healthcare cashback plan
- 3x life assurance
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Wide-anging employee discount and benefits scheme
