Temporary Fire Marshall/ Waking Watch

We are working with a leading residential developer to recruit Fire Marshals / Waking Watch Operatives to provide temporary cover at a residential development in Kent.

We are ideally looking for candidates who already hold a valid Fire Marshal / Fire Warden certificate and have previous experience within Waking Watch, security, residential property or a similar environment.

However, if you have the right experience and attitude but do not currently hold a Fire Marshal certificate, full Fire Marshal training can be provided before you attend site.

This is a responsible position where you will play an important role in supporting the fire safety of the building and its residents. You will be expected to remain alert and proactive throughout your shift, carrying out regular patrols and following the site's fire safety and emergency procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out regular Waking Watch patrols throughout the development.

Remain vigilant for any signs of fire, smoke or potential fire hazards.

Identify and report any breaches of fire safety or health & safety procedures.

Monitor communal areas, escape routes, fire doors and other designated areas.

Keep accurate records of all patrols and observations throughout your shift.

Report any faults or concerns relating to fire safety systems, equipment or the building.

Raise the alarm immediately if a fire or emergency is identified.

Contact the emergency services when required and follow the site's emergency procedures.

Assist with alerting residents and supporting an evacuation where required.

Communicate clearly with residents, the onsite team and emergency services.

Complete detailed incident reports and shift handovers where necessary.

Follow all site-specific fire safety procedures and instructions provided by the management team.

What We're Looking For
Fire Marshal / Fire Warden certification is preferred, although full training can be provided to suitable candidates.

Previous Waking Watch, Fire Marshal, security or residential experience would be beneficial.

Previous customer-facing experience within security, residential property, hospitality, front of house or a similar environment.

Excellent spoken and written English.

Strong communication skills and the confidence to act appropriately in an emergency.

Calm, alert and able to remain focused throughout a 12 hour shift.

Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude.

Confident working independently and as part of an onsite team.

Polite and professional when dealing with residents.

Good attention to detail when completing patrol logs and incident reports.

Flexible availability for both day and night shifts.
