Description

A high-end residential developer in London is stepping into Build to Rent for the first time, and they want an expert to lead the way. If you know BTR inside out and like the idea of building an operation from the ground up, keep reading.

The role

This is a newly created position, and you would be their in-house BTR specialist. You would lead the launch and day-to-day running of the new rental operation, take ownership of the full resident journey, and advise the wider business on best practice, compliance and legislation as they move into the sector.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the full lettings life cycle, from first enquiry through to move-out
  • Run viewings, negotiate terms and convert enquiries into tenancies
  • Handle pre tenancy admin, referencing, deposit registration and statutory compliance
  • Oversee rent collection, arrears, rent reviews and accurate tenancy records
  • Coordinate maintenance, inspections and utilities with the onsite property team
  • Act as the main point of contact for residents and keep the operation compliant with current and upcoming rental legislation

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Genuine, hands-on Build to Rent experience
  • Strong knowledge of tenancy legislation and statutory compliance, including the Renter's Rights reforms
  • Experience managing the full lettings life cycle end to end
  • Confidence to take ownership, establish processes and become the go-to expert

Desirable

  • Experience mobilising or launching a new BTR scheme
  • Familiarity with property management software such as MRI Qube
  • Experience advising a business that is new to the rental sector

Why join them

You would be shaping a brand new operation rather than slotting into an existing one, with real ownership from day one. As the rental portfolio grows, the scope of the role grows with it, so this is a strong long-term move. The package is £45,000 plus private healthcare and a discretionary bonus.
