Our client is seeking an exceptional General Manager to take full ownership of a landmark London Build-to-Rent community of c.250 apartments within a characterful, period mansion block development.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a highly recognisable, design‑led residential estate in a prime, leafy London location moments from major transport links, green spaces, and established neighbourhood amenities. The scheme blends character architecture with modern, professionally managed rental living - and now requires a senior leader to drive performance, culture, and resident experience.
As General Manager, you'll be the on‑site figurehead and accountable owner of the asset's success. You'll lead all onsite operations, manage and develop multi‑disciplinary teams, and act as the senior point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring the community is both commercially strong and exceptional to live in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full operational and commercial responsibility for a c.250‑unit Build‑to‑Rent community.
- Lead, develop, and inspire onsite teams across resident services, facilities, and day‑to‑day operations.
- Drive resident satisfaction, engagement, retention, and community‑building initiatives.
- Oversee leasing performance, operational budgets, and cost control.
- Act as the senior on‑site representative to stakeholders, owning reporting, performance reviews, and future planning.
- Ensure premium service delivery aligned with institutional BTR standards.
- Own health & safety, compliance, risk management, and overall asset presentation.
- Create a strong, service‑led culture where residents feel genuinely proud of where they live.
Your Background:
- Proven senior leadership experience within Build‑to‑Rent, residential operations, hospitality, or mixed‑use assets.
- Experience managing large‑scale estates or complex multi‑team environments.
- Strong commercial mindset with confidence managing budgets and performance metrics.
- A customer‑first approach matched with operational discipline.
- Calm, credible, and inspiring leadership style with excellent communication skills.
