Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading housing and care provider for a Mobile Support Officer to join their Retirement Living team based in Crewe. This is a rewarding and varied role for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of older and vulnerable people living independently in the community.

The Role

As a Mobile Support Officer you will be responsible for visiting customers across a defined geographical patch, assessing their needs and ensuring they have the right support in place to live safely and independently at home. You will be a trusted point of contact for your customers - building genuine relationships, completing support plans and risk assessments, and signposting to the right agencies when needed.

No two days will be the same. You'll be out in the community, responding to emergencies, installing and maintaining personal alarm systems, and working proactively to identify any changes in your customers' needs before they become bigger problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out regular visits to customers within your patch to monitor wellbeing and ensure support remains appropriate to their needs
  • Completing and reviewing Support Plans and risk assessments, identifying any changes in health, housing conditions or daily living
  • Installing, maintaining and removing portable emergency alarm systems in customers' homes and responding to emergency calls as required
  • Responding to service-related emergencies across the wider team area when needed
  • Signposting customers to appropriate family members, voluntary organisations, professional agencies or internal teams
  • Supporting customers who are unable to self-advocate, identifying relevant external contacts and ensuring cross-agency working
  • Maintaining accurate manual and electronic records of all visits, actions taken and customer contact
  • Acting as an ambassador for the organisation at all times, including identifying and reporting any safeguarding concerns promptly

What We Are Looking For

  • Genuine passion for working with older or vulnerable people and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Previous experience in a care, support or community-facing role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - you'll be working with people from all walks of life and need to build trust quickly
  • A practical, problem-solving approach and the confidence to manage your own workload and priorities day to day
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or working towards Level 3)
  • Knowledge of the local Crewe area and community contacts
  • Understanding of social housing legislation and tenancy management

What's On Offer

  • A genuinely meaningful role making a difference every day
  • Supportive team environment with ongoing training and developmen
