About the Role:
WE are seeking an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join our dedicated team, supporting the financial management of a growing portfolio of high-end residential and mixed-use developments. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and efficient service charge accounting, compliance with regulations, and delivering exceptional support to both clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage service charge budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Conduct year-end service charge reconciliations and liaise with external auditors to finalize accounts.
  • Monitor and manage expenditure against budgets, providing clear and detailed reports to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Property Managers to review and adjust service charge budgets as required.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable related to service charges, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
  • Handle client and resident queries regarding service charge accounts, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including RICS guidelines and lease agreements.
  • Assist in refining financial procedures and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in service charge accounting, ideally within the property management or real estate sector.
  • Strong understanding of lease agreements, service charge apportionments, and relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work collaboratively with Property Managers and other departments.
