- Description
The Role
As a Solicitor working across litigation and dispute resolution you will maintain a caseload of legal files (including complex matters) consisting of mainly Landlord & Tenant matters, breaches of covenant and rent and service charge arrears
- Preparing Claim forms and issuing them to court.
- Answering all incoming calls
- Responding to incoming emails and drafting outgoing emails and correspondence
- Liaising with clients, defendants, lenders, courts and other parties in relation to ongoing cases
- Preparing witness statements, affidavits and other documents.
- Meeting with clients, lawyers, and other professionals to talk about case details.
- Filing pleadings at Courts and Tribunals
- Ensure all key dates, directions and hearings are recorded in the outlook shared calendar "Key Dates" and all directions and hearings are complied with.
- Helping prepare for trial by organising exhibits and assisting with other tasks as needed.
- Preparing briefs, pleadings, appeals, and other legal documents.
- Searching public records and other resources to prepare cases.
- To undertake other duties commensurate to the post as directed by your manager.
- Produce reports as requested by your manager.
- Write articles on legal development.
The Person
Experience with leasehold. Further experience with commercial property matters and assured shorthold tenancies would be desirable but is not essential. You will be expected to run your caseload with minimal supervision and provide clear, accurate, commercial and concise advice to Clients. You will also support more junior members of the team as required and agreed with your line manager.

- To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars and other events designed to improve communication and assist with the effective development of the post and post holder.
- Develop and maintain good client relationships and ensure services are provided in a timely fashion and the client is informed regularly on progress and costs.
- To achieve agreed service outcomes and outputs, and personal appraisal targets, as agreed by your manager.
- To be punctual and comply with the firms sickness reporting procedures as contained in the Sickness and Attendance Policy and Procedure.
- To maintain the risk register.
- Organising and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing system in accordance with the Client Care Policy.
