- Description
We are looking for experienced concierges to work on a temporary basis at high-end residential buildings in the Birmingham area. This will be cover for permanent staff and will be available on an ad hoc basis.
Shift pattern: 4on/4off 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am
Salary: £12.75-13.00ph
Responsibilities & Duties
Resident & Contractor Interaction
- Welcome all residents, guests, and contractors on arrival and departure.
- Sign contractors in and out and manage their access, particularly for those working in communal areas.
- Maintain control of the key cabinet, ensuring all keys are correctly logged, tracked, and stored.
Parcel and Facility Management
- Receive, log, and store parcels and deliveries for residents.
- Manage bookings for communal amenities including the cinema and meeting rooms.
- Keep communal areas tidy, clean, and in line with building standards and usage rules.
- Ensure the hot drink station is stocked and presentable throughout the day.
Building Systems & Maintenance Reporting
- Monitor the SALTO access control system; notify residents when batteries are low and coordinate battery replacements with the caretaker.
- Log system issues with the service provider and coordinate with residents and the company to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct regular checks and report all required repairs and maintenance to the Property Manager or Assistant.
- Maintain a working knowledge of leaseholder vs. landlord responsibilities to properly triage maintenance queries.
Health, Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Conduct three daily fire walks covering all required inspection points (1 by day concierge; 2 by night concierge).
- Monitor and report any health & safety risks or hazards.
- Collect and update new tenant contact information, and encourage residents with access/mobility issues to register for a PEEPS (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan).
- Ensure completed PEEPS are stored in the PIB (Premises Information Box) and kept up-to-date.
Security & Front Desk Operations
- Ensure that building security is not compromised.
- Monitor all visitors and contractors to ensure they have appropriate access.
- Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of keys, deliveries, messages, and incidents.
- Assist residents with general queries and escalate where necessary.
General Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the reception and communal areas.
- Be flexible, helpful, and proactive in supporting residents and building operations.
- Report any emergencies or major defects to senior management immediately.
- Help caretaker return bins to bin stores on designated collection days

Experience Required
- Experience in residential concierge, hospitality, or similar customer-facing role
- Basic/intermediate IT skills (including Microsoft Office)
- Understanding of building access systems (SALTO experience desirable)
- Experience working in high-rise or large residential developments is an advantage
