Description

Job Title: Community Support Officer (Mobile)
Location: Crewe (field-based role)
Contract: 3-month temporary
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (no evenings or weekends)
Pay: £15.83 per hour PAYE (approx. £28,800 annual equivalent)
Driving: Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle required


Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Community Support Officer (Mobile) to join a well-established and highly regarded organisation within the social housing sector.

This is a field-based role covering the Crewe area, supporting vulnerable and elderly customers within their own homes. It's an excellent opportunity to join an organisation with a strong social purpose, offering valuable experience within a structured and supportive environment.


The Role

You will deliver a high-quality support service, enabling customers to remain independent and maintain a good quality of life within the community.

Key duties include:

  • Carrying out regular home visits to customers across your designated area
  • Assessing support needs and reviewing ongoing requirements
  • Completing Support Plans and risk assessments
  • Installing, maintaining and monitoring emergency alarm systems
  • Responding to emergency calls and taking appropriate action
  • Signposting customers to relevant services and external agencies
  • Building professional, trusted relationships with vulnerable customers
  • Managing your own diary and workload effectively
  • Maintaining accurate records using internal IT systems

Candidate Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Basic DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Experience within a care, support, housing, or community-based role
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate and professional approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
  • Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems
  • Understanding of the impact of ageing, disability, and vulnerability on daily living

Location

Candidates must be within a reasonable commute of Crewe, including surrounding areas such as Nantwich, Sandbach, Middlewich, Winsford, Northwich, Congleton, Alsager and nearby locations.

  • Able to start within 2 weeks
  • Available to commit to the full 3-month contract
