Description

We are seeking a dynamic, tech-savvy, fast-thinking Facilities Manager to join an exciting new hospitality business in Central London. Based in Soho, this revolutionary hotel concept is tailored to the next-generation traveller - offering exceptional experiences at outstanding value.

About the Role

As Facilities Manager, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the seamless operation of the hotel. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all building systems and services are running smoothly, safely, and efficiently, in line with high brand standards and guest expectations. This role is perfect for a hands-on, solutions-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all hotel facilities, ensuring smooth running of building systems and guest-facing areas
  • Manage both planned and reactive maintenance schedules
  • Conduct regular inspections to proactively identify and resolve maintenance issues
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues to minimise disruption and uphold guest satisfaction
  • Be prepared to work out-of-hours to address urgent issues, maintain essential systems (e.g. generators and backup power), and step into Duty Manager responsibilities when needed
  • Ensure full compliance with all UK regulations including health & safety legislation, fire safety codes, building regulations, and water quality standards.
  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives
  • Drive energy efficiency, waste reduction, and other sustainable practices
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and service delivery
  • Source cost-effective solutions for repairs and procurement without compromising safety or performance
  • Work closely with other departments to support daily operations and improve overall property functionality

About You

  • Proven experience in a Facilities Manager or Building Services Manager role, ideally in hospitality
  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety regulations and building compliance standards
  • Experience with complex electrical and BMS systems
  • Comfortable working in a high-energy, startup environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Passionate about sustainability and innovative operational practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible availability across a 24/7 rota

Skills You Need

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience supporting foundational technology, infrastructure, client services, and cyber security in a consumer-facing environment, ideally within hospitality, retail, or residential or commercial property
  • Pre-opening site experience highly desirable
  • Building Services Engineer related qualification i.e. BSc, HNC/HND, City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 (electrical)
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems setup, implementation, and integration across operational environments
  • Experience working within Azure, AWS, or Virtual Data Centre (VDC) environments preferred
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework
  • In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, health & safety legislation, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence
