Job Title: Building Manager
Location: London SW6
Hours: Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Building Manager to oversee the daily operations of a mixed-use residential and commercial development. This is a key leadership role requiring a highly organised individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, who can act as the primary link between residents, the freeholder, managing agents, and on-site teams.
You will be responsible for ensuring the building runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently, delivering a high standard of service to all residents and tenants.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage front of house, cleaning, and maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and adherence to building standards.
Monitor and inspect cleaning, maintenance, and contracted works across communal and commercial areas; sign off completed works to a satisfactory standard.
Maintain accurate records of site attendance by contractors and trades, ensuring security and location awareness of all visitors on site.
Oversee and coordinate resident/commercial works to minimise disruption, enforcing use of trade lifts, permitted working hours, and accountability for damage or mess.
Ensure all staff are trained in fire safety, H&S procedures, security, building checks, and that training is refreshed annually or as required.
Requirements
Proven experience managing mixed-use developments, particularly residential.
Strong leadership skills and experience in managing and motivating multi-functional teams.
Familiarity with HR practices and dealing with staffing issues.
Proficient in using software for budgeting, admin, and reporting purposes.
Excellent understanding of health & safety, fire safety, GDPR, and other regulatory compliance areas.
