Job Title: Maintenance / Handyman Shift Engineer
Department Engineering/Facilities
Reports to: Head of Engineering and Facilities.
Hours: Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm
Responsible for: Engineering planned and preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and forms part of the emergency response team while on duty at our client's luxury residential apartent building.
Main Scope of Duties:
To carry out general maintenance duties throughout the property. Able to carry out high quality repairs in an efficient and safe manner. Working in both Residences (as required) and Landlords areas carrying out repairs to equipment, fixture and fittings and plant as deemed necessary, depending on skill level. There will be workshop production programs, Stock & tool control, this position is responsible for all aspects of the property maintenance.
Education
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language High school graduate / technical college in engineering or equivalent Indentured Apprenticeship / City and Guilds qualification or equivalent Experience in Facility Management Hospitals or Hotels Experienced in the operation of BMS / EMS / PMS Ability to read Blueprints, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural.
Requirements
This role demands experience with a technical background in MEP plant and product care as associated with the service and support in Building maintenance.
Knowledge in working with in the hospitality industry is beneficial to the full understanding of the role. The individual will be able to respond to a diversity of inquiries whilst providing solution is promptly and efficiently.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) The ability to prioritize, schedule tasks / requests for maintenance and repairs to the relevant Engineering personnel.
2) The ability to diagnose, repair reported defects in a planned and prioritized manner.
3) The ability to work within a team environment while assisting on major emergencies, shut downs & repairs.
4) Monitor and manage building operating systems, adjusting as necessary to meet operational standards within design parameters.
5) Assist the Head of Engineering and Facilities with planning and implementing of procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient maintenance department.
Competencies:
1) Strong knowledge of UK legislation.
2) Strong knowledge of Health and Safety systems and processes
3) Prior knowledge and experience of Building Management Systems
4) Proactive problem-solving approach and can do attitude
5) The ability to work on own initiative and conscientious approach
