Description

PMR are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join an on-site team within an exciting Build to Rent development in South East London, SE8. The Maintenance Technician is a key part of the residents' services team helping to provide an exceptional level of customer service and a hands-on approach to the resident journey. The main function of the role is to ensure that the apartments, the building, systems and equipment are kept in a safe working condition and maintained to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure apartments are maintained to a high standard between tenancies, including painting and decorating and checking appliances where necessary
  • Respond to urgent and non-urgent maintenance issues in a timely manner and liaise with and assist Manager where specific replacement parts may be needed
  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the building including electrical, plumbing, plant, security, health and safety systems
  • Comply with all reporting and record keeping requirements
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (including but not limited to ladder checks, water checks and life safety system checks)
  • Trouble shoot, fault-find and diagnose mechanical and technical issues
  • Handle basic repairs and maintenance to machines, equipment and structures ensuring minimum downtime
  • Assist Manager in overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
  • Other ad hoc housekeeping, landscaping and maintenance duties as directed
  • Assist in the moving of furniture in and out of apartments prior to resident arrivals
  • Be proactive in the maintaining the high standards of our residential buildings
  • Maintain good control over stock levels and conduct regular stock takes of consumables
  • Assist in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all of those in the building and report any hazards or incidents immediately
  • Carry out weekly, monthly, and quarterly PPM building checks as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Have experience in a similar customer facing maintenance role. It would be desirable if the candidate has a working knowledge, or level of skill in painting and decorating, and joinery or carpentry
  • Interact with the residents in a courteous and friendly manner and assist when possible
  • Establish effective, professional, positive working relationships with colleagues as part of the residents' services team
  • Be responsible for personal health and safety at work
  • To take pride and care in personal appearance, presentation, and conduct
  • Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures
  • Handle confidential information with due care and attention

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday - 9am-6pm.

  • Please be aware there is an on-call requirement for emergency situations.
  • A flexible approach to the needs of the business and requirement to assist with extra hours or change in normal working pattern if required during busy periods. For example, there may be a requirement to work at a weekend.
  • Any additional hours for on-call emergency situations or weekend working will be compensated with time in lieu or overtime as requested.
