Summary

The Client Accountant is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate production of service charge accounts. This includes liaising with auditors, property managers, and clients as needed.

Duties

  • Prepare service charge accounts in accordance with current legislation and industry body requirements within 6 months of the year end.
  • Liaise with all interested parties throughout the process to ensure queries are responded to in a timely way.
  • Process any amendments following external and/or internal agreement between parties.
  • Make decisions both independently and collaboratively based on reasoned arguments, supported by evidence with a clear business benefit.
  • Meet all Service Level Agreements within stated deadlines.
  • Complete all further reasonable external or internal requests that are received.
  • Take responsibility for the full preparation process even whilst not actively involved to ensure timely completion.
  • Be aware of the risks and controls associated with the role together with the mechanism for reporting new risks and/or incidents which could bring detriment to the business, members of staff or to customers.

  • Highly organised, forward thinking, and able to take a lateral approach to problem solving.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and be polite and courteous to both internal and external parties at all times.
  • Be punctual and prepared for all activities and meetings, striving for 100% attendance.
  • Have a proven work ethic and strive to constantly improve personal performance while working towards team objectives.
  • Demonstrate a consistent high level of customer service.
  • Communicate in a well written and professional manner, making sure all work is correctly formatted with grammar and spelling checked before being issued.

Educational Requirements

  • Previous experience preparing and reviewing service charge accounts.
  • Medium to advanced user of MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
