JOB TITLE Porter Concierge
LOCATION: London, SW6
LINE MANAGER: House Manager
SALARY: £24,000 - 25,000 pa
HOURS: 3 on 3 off, Nights, 20.00pm - 08.00am
PURPOSE AND AIM OF POST: To staff the estate office and assist residents with all porterage and concierge activities. In addition to provide any reasonable ad-hoc services as the occupiers may require.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To perform your duties and provide concierge services, in the prescribed manner, as instructed by the House Manager.
- To inspect, on a daily basis, all internal areas of the private residential buildings and report any defects, security or health and safety concerns to the House Manager..
- To set an example for other staff members by being courteous and helpful to all occupiers in addition to members of the public, other staff, guests, and to contractors employed on the estate.
- To enter all relevant comments/details in the porter's log with regard to the signing in and out of alt contractors and service personnel in attendance to the communal areas of the estate.
- To supervise any keys which may be held in reception. To ensure that they are correctly logged in and out in accordance with agreed procedures.
- To receive and keep safe registered mail and deliveries for residents.
- To ensure deal with all general telephone enquiries and log messages.
- To change all defective light bulbs to the private residential buildings, where appropriate. Where light bulbs are inaccessible, they should be logged and reported to the House Manager so that appropriate attention may be organised.
- To ensure that all incidents or accidents are logged accordingly.
- You will ensure that all duties to which you are assigned are carried throughout the duration of your shift, as appropriate and to maintain security and safety of the estate. Dependent on shift, you will monitor CCTV cameras and deal with delivery or orientation queries, or any other matter of a security nature referred to the gatehouse. Alternatively, your shift will involve the patrol of the estate, at which time it is essential that vigilance is maintained at all times.
- To monitor all persons within the development and ensure that they may go about their business safely and legitimately.
- To carry out regular checks to ensure that all gates and external doors are kept closed and that locks are in good repair.
- During routine patrols you will be required to report any incidents or suspicious occurrences to the House Manager immediately.
- General Admin tasks, as directed by the House Manager.
General
- In general, the post-holder is expected to be flexible and undertake duties as required by the House Manager or the Managing Agent.
- To report any defect or health and safety concern, no matter what it's nature, to your line manager.
- Whilst on duty you should be of tidy personal appearance and wearing the uniform and identification badge provided.
- You should refrain from smoking, swearing or shouting, being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, behaving unsociably, watching TV, sleeping, eating, congregating with others or conducting yourself in a manner deemed unsuitable by members of senior staff.
