Our client is a luxury residential block in the heart of St John's Wood, looking for a Front Desk Concierge/Porter to join the team!
Hours/Rota: Monday-Sunday: 6am-6pm (1 week on, 1 week off)
Role:
- The role of a Front Desk Concierge/Porter is to make sure that all residents and visitors are met when they arrive at the building throughout the week.
- Should you be required to release keys to any visitor or resident, you will make a note in the Key Log and obtain contact information.
- You will ensure that the building is secure and that residents and guests are safe.
- Should any issues arise you will need to inform the Head Porter or Managing Agent immediately if required or make a note in the log book and alert the Night Front Desk Concierge/Porter at the handover if not.
- You will attend to an inspection of the whole building and its parameter on a two hourly basis and reporting any issues in the log book.Main objectives of the role:
- Prevent unauthorised entry to the building, including challenging unrecognised visitors in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Provide courteous and respectful assistance to all residents by opening main doors for them and for their visitors where practicable, carrying their luggage, shopping and parcels to their flats and such other services as may be requested.
- Be visible on the forecourt to assist residents, visitors and contractors and to control improper parking on the forecourt. A record must be made of improperly parked vehicles including the registration number, tyre of vehcile and times parked on the forecourt in contravention of the parking regulations,
- Record all incidents and messages in the day book, including time of day, name of person, flat numbers etc.
- Receive deliveries for residents including parcels, flowers and laundry temporarily storing them and delivering them to residents as soon as possible. A parcel card must be completed and delivered to the relevant flat.Other duties:
- The switching on and off of hall, staircase and front and rear outside lights at agreed times or according to weather conditions
- Laying down and lifting clean entrance hall druggets during adverse weather
- Inspect common parts lighting at least once per day and notify the Back Porters if any bulbs require changing
- To familiarise yourself with the type and use of fire appliances and their location
- Take pride in the building and the service being offered and, in particular, ensure that the front desk area and the porters and ensure that the mess room and wash room facilities are kept clean and tidyDay Book: A Day Book is provided and kept in the entrnace to the Block and should be used to record;
- Any complaints from residents, immediately once made, residents should also be referred to the Head Porter
- Any disturbances caused by residents, you should attempt to deal with the matter in the most polite and tactful way but you must not take sides, as soon as possible the matter should be reported to the Head Porter
- Any apparent contravention of the terms of the lease, report immediately to the Head Porter
- The names of all visitors and contractors, other than bona fide private callers to flats, together with the details such as the purpose of the visit.
- Oversee the departure of all contractors on site inclduing the times of arriva and departure together with the relevant comments.Experience:
Ideally 1-2 years front desk concierge/porter experience within Residential, Hotels or other hospitality backgrounds
