PMR are seeking a Business Intelligence Manager to work with our client, a global provider of purpose built student accommodation, as part of the commercial operations team.
The Business Intelligence Manager will be responsible for the production and continuous improvement of the commercial reporting suite, affording insight and expertise to deliver an industry grade tech stack. This role will line manage the Commercial Analyst(s) and work closely with Operations, Finance and Marketing teams to drive commercial performance across the business in all territories.
The Business Intelligence Manager will be expected to lead strategy and take ownership of compiling information and presentations for our investors to show overall performance of their assets, provide insight on competition as well as recommendations to garner sign off to improve performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Working with the Head of Commercial Operations to develop and implement the commercial strategy for the business in the UK and Europe
- Providing critical information to inform our commercial decisions and business performance
- Monitoring and analysing sales trends, customer behaviour and competitor's services to identify profitable commercial opportunities for the business
- Undertaking market research and analysis and producing business plans to fully evaluate all commercial opportunities
- Maintaining leasing and commercial reporting to investors and the wider business
- Collating and analysing business data pertaining to all commercial activities.
- Maintaining a broad awareness of the market in all operational territories - student numbers, University recruitment strategy, planning applications/pipeline bed numbers etc.
- Taking ownership for the production of quarterly commercial performance presentations to the business and external stakeholders
- To manage the process of producing business case proposals, Opex and Rate budgets for the Investment Management team upon identification of a suitable project and to take ownership of their accuracy and timely production
- Work with senior Operations and Marketing team members to ensure all costs are correctly identified and included prior to submission
- To manage the process of storing all business case proposals and aligning them by size, territory, asset class etc
- Liaise with the Finance team in support of quarterly investor reporting
EXPERIENCE:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent IT skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and the ability to create, amend and customise large Excel spreadsheets
- Experience in a business development, customer management or sales related sector.
- Experience of coaching and people management.
- Experience of managing multiple projects
- Experience of producing budgets and reforecasting as appropriate
- Used to writing executive reports without support
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
- Experience of working in the PBSA, residential or hotel market across multiple jurisdictions is desirable
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and capable of building effective work relationships with a wide range of people
- Highly numerate
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to speak a foreign language would also be an advantage in our international environment, preferably Spanish, German or Portuguese.
