Description

Our client is looking to fill a permanent Porter role in Marble Arch, London W1 for a luxury residential building.

This is temp to perm with salary of £22,000-£23,000pa.

Working times are:
Wednesdays, Thursday, Friday days (11am-11pm) and Satursday night (11pm-11am)

We are looking for someone mature with experience in the role, who feels comfortable to question people at the door and able to deal with difficult situations.

Training will be provided.

SCHEDULE 1: Detailed Job Specification

General Overview

It is the duty of the porter to ensure the smooth running of the building. The aim is to provide a comfortable and secure living environment for residents with the focus of staff being the security of the building and residents.

You will be courteous, alert, and willing to assist residents, guests, visitors and fellow employees at all times.

General Duties

  1. As Porter, the security of the building and the safety of the residents are of the utmost importance.
  2. It is the responsibility of the Porter to ensure that each individual familiarises him/herself with the fire and security equipment and is fully aware of evacuation and emergency procedures.
  3. The Porter should know all residents by sight so that strangers can be identified.
  4. When on the front desk, answer the reception telephone, receive deliveries and deal with general enquiries.
  5. Assist residents at all times together with their guests and visitors when and where required.

Daily duties

  1. To patrol the premises comprehensively at different times but at least once an hour during your hours of duty.
  2. Ensure that all doors and windows giving access to the outside are locked at all times.
  3. Remove rubbish from outside the flats Monday to Saturday.
  4. Ensure that refuse areas are kept tidy and that lids are kept on the paladins. Notify Managing Agents of any problems.
  5. Ensure all front entrances are swept and cleaned.

Duties as and when necessary

  1. Liase with Managing Agents regarding issuing of instructions to contractors for repairs/maintenance.
  2. Assist residents as and when necessary. Be available at all times to assist residents and other porters in emergencies, as a result of major security breaches or disturbances to the residents.
  3. Check and deal with any matters reported by the residents. Advise the Managing Agents as appropriate
  4. Advise contractors of restrictions on working hours in the buildings and other code of conduct matters as appropriate.
  5. Notify Managing Agents of any works being carried out within individual flats which may require a Licence for Alteration.
