Caretaker & Maintenance Operative

Job Opportunity: Residential Caretaker & Maintenance Operative (NW10)
Location: Private Residential Development
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Start: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Caretaker to support a residential development. This is a great opportunity for someone with a friendly, proactive approach who takes pride in keeping their environment clean, safe, and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a warm, courteous presence for residents, visitors, and contractors
• Monitor site access and challenge unauthorised individuals when necessary
• Log and report any maintenance issues or building defects to management
• Carry out light maintenance tasks (e.g., bulb changes, painting and decorating)
• Conduct weekly fire alarm testing and routine lighting inspections
• Ensure communal areas are tidy and free of obstructions at all times
• Manage contractor access and sign-in procedures
• Check and distribute notices, and communications as required
• Keep resident notice boards up to date and presentable
• Maintain drains, gutters, and surrounding property cleanliness
• Use a company-provided phone to respond to resident queries during working hours

Ideal Candidate:

• Presentable, professional, and customer-service focused
• Confident managing site access and dealing with residents/contractors
• Basic handyman/maintenance skills (DIY, light repairs, etc.)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Prior experience in a residential or similar caretaking role is desirable
