Our Client is currently looking for an experienced Day Concierge to join their team at a luxury residential development in Harrow, HA1.

Working 4 on 4 off 7am - 7pm.

Salary is £26,000 annually.

Duties include:

  • Act as custodian of the building and its curtilage.
  • Foster good relations with the residents and ensure that the development is managed to a high standard.
  • To take responsibility for the presentation, cleanliness and safety of all the public areas in the designated block and localised estate.
  • To interact with residents in a courteous, professional and helpful manner always.
  • To ensure that any breaches of security or damage is reported to the Development Manager.
  • Always maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the Estate, specifically in relation to the front entrance areas, concierge desk, glazing, floors, parcel deliveries, flower arrangements and lighting. All defects are to be recorded and reported to the Development Manager daily. Any fliers or similar items are to be placed in an appropriate location or removed.
  • Always remain courteous to all our customers. It is expected that the Concierge staff should assist and open doors for our Customers upon entry and exit of the development, aid with baggage, calling the lift and generally always being helpful.
  • Personal hygiene and presentation, including full uniform are to be always maintained to the highest standards.
  • The Concierge office is a place of business. Food must not be consumed behind the desk; neither must jackets or coats be strung over the back of chairs.
  • Under no circumstance should there be any audible systems such as radios or televisions anywhere upon the development for use by any of the Concierge Team.
  • To be responsible daily for the removal of litter, detritus and other site materials from the communal areas of the development, paying specific attention to the courtyard, car parks and lifts.
  • To ensure the building frontage is kept clean and tidy.
  • To be responsible for the watering of any plants or shrubbery within the designated areas of the development.
  • No radio, television or similar should be audible from the Concierge desk
  • To provide and maintain and up to date logbook or register, be it paper or PC calendar based to record all site issues as they arise
  • To manage and account for the petty cash on a monthly basis where appropriate
  • Health and Safety compliance in accordance with company policy to include monthly H&S checks, weekly lift alarm tests, weekly fire alarm tests, emergency light tests.
  • To offer and manage a robust and secure apartment key holding service for residents in line with company policy, specific reference must be made to the following:
  • Key management
  • Be aware and responsible for all visitors and contractors on site.
  • Regularly monitor all CCTV and access control systems.
  • Patrol at regular intervals, checking all doors and external gates.
  • Report any faults to the access/fire/CCTV systems to the appropriate contractors and Barratt London
  • Report and Health & Safety, communal/building defect from patrols.
  • Regularly check the access control system for lost/stolen cards/fobs
  • Report any damage to the building, or damage to residents' possessions in public areas to the Development Manager.
  • To be aware and responsible for access and routine management of all approved contractors, such as cleaners, gardeners, service engineers and window cleaners.
  • Window cleaning will take place on set dates and any access required to apartment must be arranged via Concierge.
  • To check works carried out by such contractors on a regular basis.
  • To report instances of poor-quality work or work practice to the Development Manager.
  • Non routine (repairs, renewals and emergencies)
  • To be fully conversant with the entire site manual, operating procedures and operation of the communal M&E items.
  • To refer to the Development Manager any omissions relating to the M&E documentation or OEM manuals.
  • To identify any specific training issues that may be required from the manuals and liaise with the Development Manager.
  • To be aware of approved company policy in relation to lift emergencies, specifically in the release of trapped passengers.
  • To ensure that you know all of the operating procedures for all technical/IT systems on site.
  • To review, daily, any resident's notice board and other communal areas ensuring all signage and notices are appropriate and displayed tidily.
  • To form courteous and professional relationships.
  • To assist a resident with any reasonable request.
  • To be proactive in seeking and passing on information on local services.
  • To maintain full compliance with the company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Follow company procedure and guidelines for Health and Safety in relation to compliance.
  • Ensure safe working environment and site safety at all times.
  • Report any breaches of H&S to Line Management.
  • Report all accidents and near misses to Line Management.
  • To be fully conversant with and adhere to the company IT policy.
  • Understand IT procedures in relation to the post of Concierge.
  • Carry out any other reasonable IT related tasks.
