Service Charge Accountant

We are working with a respected Freeholder to recruit an experienced and motivated Service Charge Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in North London with a team dedicated to ensuring the seamless financial management of a diverse property portfolio.

Position Overview

As a Service Charge Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects related to the Freeholder's property developments. Reporting to the Finance Director, your role will be integral in maintaining financial accuracy, meeting deadlines, and supporting key stakeholders, including leaseholders and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee finances pertaining to property developments, including raising demands, chasing arrears, reconciling accounts, and managing contractor invoices.
  • Take ownership of year-end service charge accounts to ensure timely completion.
  • Collaborate with third-party accountants to resolve queries and assist with year end accounts.
  • Reporting & Reconciliations: Prepare client reports and conduct detailed bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with setting up property and leaseholder details on property management systems. (Experience with MRI Qube is highly desirable.)

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in finance, ideally within the property or real estate sector.
  • Proven experience managing service charge accounts and financial reconciliations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with property management systems, particularly MRI Qube, is a significant advantage.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
