Fire Door Inspector

Our Client is a reputable property management company based in London, committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents within residential flats. As part of our dedication to fire safety, we are seeking a skilled Fire Door Inspector to join our team.

The Fire Door Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of fire doors within residential flats across London. The primary objective is to ensure that all fire doors comply with relevant safety regulations and standards, mitigating the risk of fire hazards and promoting the safety of residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive inspections of fire doors in residential flats throughout London, adhering to established schedules and priorities.
  2. Evaluate the condition, functionality, and compliance of fire doors with relevant fire safety regulations, including but not limited to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and British Standards.
  3. Identify and document any deficiencies, damages, or non-compliance issues observed during inspections, providing detailed reports to management and relevant stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with property managers, maintenance teams, and contractors to address and rectify identified issues promptly and effectively.
  5. Offer expert advice and recommendations regarding fire door maintenance, repair, and replacement, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  6. Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, reports, and follow-up actions, utilizing appropriate documentation and reporting tools.
  7. Stay updated on changes in fire safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices, integrating new knowledge into inspection procedures and recommendations.
  8. Communicate effectively with residents, property management teams, and external stakeholders to raise awareness of fire safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within residential communities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in fire safety inspection, preferably with a focus on fire doors or building compliance.
  2. In-depth knowledge of relevant fire safety regulations, standards, and guidelines applicable to residential properties in the UK, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and British Standards.
  3. Certification or training in fire door inspection and maintenance (e.g., FDIS Diploma, FIRAS certification) is highly desirable.
  4. Strong attention to detail and observational skills, with the ability to identify and assess fire door deficiencies accurately.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising effectively with diverse stakeholders and conveying technical information clearly and concisely.
  6. Proficiency in using relevant inspection tools and equipment, as well as computer software for documentation and reporting.
  7. A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet inspection schedules and deadlines.
  8. Valid driving license and willingness to travel within London for on-site inspections as required.
