Our client is looking for a Porter to work in a Resdiential development in South West London.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 5pm
Duties:
- First point of contact to all Residents, Contractors and Visitors.
- Provide a constant presence in the building and in the main reception area.
- The Concierge must meet and greet the residents with the highest level of service, assisting residents where necessary.
- Where possible the Concierge will attend to residents' queries and where necessary must refer matters to the Managing Agents.
- Report issues and deal effectively with complaints.
- The Concierge is to be fully conversant in all aspects of Secuirty.
- Regularly patrol the buildings and grounds as directed.
- The Porter must carry out all cleaning required to the lifts and other common parts
- Litter picking should be carried out daily to ensure that external areas and the bins stores are tidy.
- The contracted party should be familiar with the various emergency procedures regarding mains water supply, electrical and mechanical plant, and ensure familiarity with the appropriate emergency procedures.
- Sweep walkways; keep footpaths clean of leaves, snow and rubbish.
- Watering of plants in accordance with instructions from Managing Agents.
- Litter picking throughout grounds as necessary and rubbish/recycling removal.
- Ensure dogs do not foul on the estate, where necessary speaking directly to owners to remind them of their responsibilities. Where difficulties are encountered the Managing Agents should be contacted immediately so that they can intervene.
- Ensure the communal areas are always kept clean and tidy.
- The Concierge is responsible for receiving and safekeeping of all parcels, registered mail, packages, flowers, laundry, and other deliveries for residents.
- The Concierge takes meter readings and reports back to residents / leaseholders.
- Replace light bulbs in all common parts as necessary and at the direction of Managing Agents.
- Familiarisation of location of stop valves, electrical supplies, and fire extinguishers.
Requirements:
- Communication is fundamental to this role: the Concierge is expected to communicate properly with residents, leaseholders, contractors, service providers, the local Council and the Managing Agents.
- Unless undertaking maintenance work, the Concierge must be smartly dressed at all times.
- Previous experience in concierge services, customer service, hospitality, or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and skilled at problem solving
- Ability to work proactively and independently on own initiative
- Proficiency in using computer / office equipment and computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain a calm and composed demeanour.
- Understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
