The Role

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Client Accountant in their London office. As a Client Accountant, you will work as part of a team and be responsible for all aspects of client and property accounting within a designated portfolio made up of residential, and/or mixed-use properties. You will be the focal point for coordinating our accounting service delivery to both external and internal clients.

  • Manage a select portfolio of clients on the property management system, including commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of designated client accounting records, including financial statements, tax reporting, tenant and client charges, reconciliations, and supporting information.
  • Produce cash reconciliations for service charge properties within the portfolio.
  • Act as the principal contact point for clients, surveyors, and relevant parties regarding accounting service delivery.
  • Respond promptly to routine queries from clients, tenants, and colleagues.
  • Ensure data pertaining to the portfolio is complete and accurate.
  • Perform checks of work undertaken by other team members, ensuring postings are made promptly, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Attend client meetings as required and work with clients to understand their needs.
  • Review funding regularly to ensure payment obligations can be met and that monies collected are paid over without delay.
  • Monitor rent, service charge, rates, and similar payments, ensuring compliance with terms and obtaining necessary receipts.
  • Raise routine charges on a timely basis in accordance with lease and budgetary requirements.
  • Assist in internal and external audits of financial information, procedures, and controls.
  • Report client service delivery issues and routine key performance indicators.
  • Oversee the set up and maintenance of the chart of accounts, sub-ledger structure, banking rules, and transaction types.
  • Prepare monthly reporting to clients, including variance analysis and commentary against budget and re-forecasts.
  • Ensure data aligns with client systems and can be uploaded to their financial systems when necessary.
  • Build relationships with internal and external clients, being responsive and helpful.
  • Complete own work under minimal supervision/guidance.

The Person

  • Strong excel, pivot table experience
  • 3 years + managing residential and/or commerical service charge
  • Understanding of legislation around preparation and billing of service charge
  • BlocksOnline experience preferrable

The package

  • One day per week WFH
  • Access to employment benefits programme including day to day discounts.
  • £50,000- £60,000 pa.
