NIGHT PORTER - Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday (7pm to 7am) - 33 hours in total
SALARY - £25.5k Per annum
JOB DESCRIPTION
- In your capacity as Night Porter, you report to the Building Manager.
- You are responsible for the security of the building and are required to be present at the reception desk throughout your shift, with the exception of rest breaks, building checks or other building related duties.
- Your specific responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the security measures at the property are maintained to a high standard at all times, examples include keeping a record of contractors/tradesmen working on site (times, dates etc), logging any keys issued, monitoring security camera's while on reception duty.
- To be alert and challenge visitors to the block who are unknown or who appear to require assistance.
- To be attentive to residents and visitors, this includes opening doors, carrying all parcels, suitcases (of a normal weight) and dealing with resident's enquiries
- To carry out regular security checks of the building, including all main entrance doors, back doors, boiler houses, roof access areas etc. Your Building Manager will provide full details of the areas to be checked.
- To undertake general cleaning duties in the reception area ie. vacuum, mop the lifts, wipe down brass as advised by the Building Manager.
- Safely change fire detector batteries and light bulbs when required in flats.
- Report any Health and Safety issue to the Building Manager.
- In addition, and consistent with your appointment as Night Porter you will be required to undertake other ad hoc duties as may be necessary to assist in the efficient operation and running of the property.
