Role: Security Officer
Location: South West London
Positions Available: 4
Hours: 60 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 5 days , 12 hour shifts on a day/night rota
Contract: Temp to Perm
Salary: £33,900
My client is looking for an electrical engineer to work at a luxury, residential development in South West London, consisting of approximately 1300 flats/units.
The purpose of these roles are to ensure the safety and security of all areas of the site and assist tenants and visitors as required.
Main Responsibilities:
Maintaining the safety and security of tenants, residents, visitors, colleagues and property of the site
- Patrol and check all areas, including the basement and outside areas of the site regularly, reporting any rubbish, obstructions, or fire and safety hazard.
- Check regularly that all fire extinguishers and any other emergency equipment are intact and functional. Reporting any defects to the Security Controller.
- Report any problems relating to lifts, lighting, doors/closers or furnishing to the Security Controller.
- Maintain observation of vehicle users, advising them if they contravene parking regulations, and notifying the Security Controller if driver is not present.
- Issue parking tickets as appropriate.
- Give evidence in court when required.
- Report any suspicious occurrence to the Security Controller.
- Cover the position of Access Controller in the event of absence or during busy periods.
Provision of a courteous and helpful service as and when required
- Assist tenants and visitors with any queries.
- Investigate tenants' complaints, reporting to the Security Controller, Maintenance or as appropriate.
- Report anything of concern (e.g. welfare or safety of a tenant, breaches of regulations, etc) to the Security Controller.
- Deliver internal circulars and letters to tenant's flats as detailed by the Security Controller.
Act as a member of the Fire/Evacuation Party in the event of fire or emergency
- Act as a member of the Emergency Party in the case of fire or other emergency in accordance with the Site Emergency Procedures.
- Be completely familiar with the role and responsibilities of the Security Port under these procedures
- Take part in training and drills when required.
- Any other ad hoc duties as required to support the needs of the department/business.
Health and Safety
- Take reasonable care of your own health and safety to not put other people at risk by what you do or don't do in the course of your work
- Cooperate with and adhere to any health and safety instructions given by the company and obey any signs displayed around the site in relation to health and safety.
- Familiarise yourself with the company emergency procedures and health and safety policies, a copy of which is kept in each department and on the company shared drive
- Report any hazards you may identify to management of the relevant department
- Adhere to the accident reporting procedures if you have or witness an accident
- Attend any compulsory health and safety training
- Notify the company of any change or circumstances (such as pregnancy, health problems, medication you are taking etc) which might affect your health and safety at work.
- Any other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as advised from time to time by the Company.
Requirements:
- Level of physical fitness, to climb stairs and carry objects following manual handling training
- 1 years' previous security and customer service experience.
- Experience of working in a similar environment or similar role is desirable, preferably in a hotel or residential setting
- A current S.I.A Door Supervisor Certification
