Our client is looking for a professional and knowledgeable Head Gardener to work full time at their Luxury Residential Development based in Snodland, Kent.
Role: Head Gardener
Location: Snodland, Kent
Pattern: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8am - 4pm
Salary: £25,000 pa
Start Date: ASAP (preferred end of October 2022)
Duties can include:
- Reporting any maintenance incidents or problems on site to the Estate Manager
- Reporting on Health & Safety and Security problems, any issues that do not meet requirements.
- Ensure waste and rubbish is cleared daily and collected as and when required, keeping the development a clean, tidy and also safe environment for all residents and their visitors.
- Monitoring communal areas making sure that residents keep them tidy, removing any items that could be considered an obstruction or hazard, liaising with the residents and estate manager accordingly.
- Maintain and respect total confidentiality when dealing with residents, disclosure of information that may be considered damaging to the client or colleagues is not permitted.
- Ensuring all personnel on site are permitted, dealing with intruders or anti-social behaviour in a calm yet firm manner
- Compliance with Health & Safety is of utmost importance, all checks and reports must be made accurately and reported immediately, with appropriate signing and warnings displayed and the appropriate contractors contacted as soon as possible.
- Oversee contractors whilst working on site, ensuring they are working in a safe manner that complies with site procedures and a conscientious attitude for residents.
Candidates need to be experienced as they will be expected to be involved in the gardening as well as providing gardening advice to the gardeners and Estate Manager i.e. what plants should be used in certain areas etc. Your main objective is to ensure that the site is a pleasant environment for residents and visitors as well as a pleasant work environment for yourself. To care for and maintain the estate as a whole as directed by the Estate Manager. You should look presentable and welcoming at all times and be polite and courteous towards residents or visitors to the development.
Previous experience working in a residential setting or in previous gardening role is highly preferred. If not, a proven knowledge of gardening and domestic horticulture is beneficial.
