Day Porter in Kensington, W8

Our client is seeking an experienced Porter to join their friendly team based within a luxury residential building in Kensington W8.

Salary - £22,697 per annum
Hours - rotation of 9am to 6pm and 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays 8am to 12pm

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The Porter should be courteous and helpful to residents and their guest/visitors at all times while maintaining efficient security of the building. A clean and smart appearance is required at all times. A combination of front of house reception and cleaning is the main focus of this role.

• You are responsible to ensure that you are available throughout your hours of duty. If for any reason you are away due to assisting a resident or visitor, or carrying out other duties detailed herein, a note must be posted giving details of where you are and how long before you return.
• You are to assist residents, guests and visitors when required.
• You are to distribute morning papers/post to flats by 9.00am at the latest each day.
• A special log of registered mail and deliveries is to be maintained which residents must sign when the item is delivered/collected. During routine patrols, staff to notify residents of delivery asking them to contact the front desk whereupon arrangements can be made for delivery.
• To monitor all persons within the development and challenge them if necessary in order to be certain they have a right to be present.

Daily Cleaning Duties:

• To wash and clean the external areas surrounding the main entrance.
• Dust all surfaces and handrails in communal areas.
• To sweep and vacuum all floor surfaces in the reception area.
• To clean and disinfect, where necessary, all internal staff facilities.
• Clear any rubbish from residential communal areas left by yardman during his rounds.

Weekly Duties:

• Polish all brass on front doors of flats.
• Polish all stair handrails.
• Polish all surfaces in communal areas.

Monthly Duties:

• To clean internally and externally all windows on the communal residential landings.
• Polish all wooden door frames.
• Clean all furniture in communal areas.

Quarterly Duties:

• Keep all light fittings clean.
• Clean out cleaning cupboards.
