PMR provide on-site staff to high end residential apartments across the UK and are currently recruiting for temporary porters for temporary work
Hours: hours will vary depending on clients needs but will always be cover during the day
Rates: £9.80 -£11.05p/h + Holiday Pay
Duties:
- Refuse Bags should be collected every morning from the landings to the flats by 9am
- All mail should be distributed to the individual flats as soon as it is delivered by the postman. Papers should be delivered to the individual flats as soon as it is delivered by the relevant person.
- The staircase, landings and entrance hall are to be 3 times a week. The garage, front and rear basement areas should also be cleaned 3 times a week. You should also check that the lift is cleaned daily.
- A security check should be carried out twice daily to include a check to the building last thing at night.
- You are to be responsible for ensuring that the garage doors are kept shut except when in use.
- You are to ensure that all tradesmen make their deliveries via the rear yard to the basement entrance and by the goods lift so far as possible.
- The electric lighting to the staircase etc is to be switched on permanently. The porter will check the running of the boiler and adjust the thermostat and central heating radiators in the common parts according to weather conditions.
- A regular inspection should be carried out to the building which should include the roof and tank room.
- You are required to occupy your office during the times of your employment. If for whatever reason you have to leave your office you should clearly display a sign on the main front door of the building and on your office. This sign will be supplied by the Managing Agents and will allow people to call you in any part of the building you are in. When you are not in your office, the light should be turned off and the door locked.
- You are required to replace the light bulbs in the common parts of the building.
- You are to report to the Managing Agents any defects noted or any unusual incidents affecting the building.
- You are not allowed to leave the premises (which includes your flat) unless prior agreement has been made with one of the Directors or the Managing Agents. The exception to this is to allow a ten minute period for you to attend your flat to change from your cleaning clothes into your working uniform.
- You will be required to hold a telephone to be supplied by the Company. You should at all times keep the phone fully charged so as to allow you to receive calls. If you fail to continuously answer or return any calls within a short period, the firm will consider this continuous serious misconduct.
- You are responsible for ensuring that the common parts remain a non-smoking area
- You are responsible for assisting with suitcases and parcels, in and out of the building
- You are responsible for logging all keys in possession of the caretaker in the key book. No keys are to be given out without written authority. If it is a case of emergency then you should accompany the workmen/other necessary person to the flat
- You are responsible for watering the plants as/when necessary
- You are responsible for reporting any defects, or behavioural misconduct of residents to the Managing Agents.
- You are responsible for supervising other staff that may be employed from time-to-time (for example, window cleaners and maintenance staff)
