We are working with a traditional residential apartment block seeking an experienced Porter to join the team based in the West End on a rota basis:
Shifts: 9am - 5pm/ 3pm to 11pm/ 11am to 7pm
The Porter MUST be able and willing to cover night shifts every 3 weeks when required, to provide cover for the night Porter.
Salary: £24,000 per annum rising to £26,000 after successful probation
Duties:
- To provide all necessary services to the residents.
- Communicate efficiently with all other members of staff and the residents and be responsible for a welcoming atmosphere throughout the property.
- Regular building patrol to ensure cleanliness and comfort of the reception area and common parts.
- To assist residents at all times together with their guests and visitors when and where required.
- To perform all necessary porter duties. These duties include but are not limited to carrying luggage / packages for residents, cleaning duties as and when required.
- To receive and distribute all mail.
- To monitor all persons at the property and ensure they have a right to be present.
- To answer the telephone and deal with general enquiries. To log messages, requests & events as per the approved procedure by correctly using the tools at your disposal.
- To monitor the presence of contractors around the building and supervise their activities to ensure minimum disturbance to residents. This monitoring to be done in accordance with the agreed procedure.
- Report and monitor health and safety issues and ensure a full safe working practice.
- To take part in training in line with the company policies and procedures.
- Log and report any incidence of disrepair by using the appropriate procedure/ tool at your disposal.
