- Description
We are working with a high end residential apartment block situated in the West End, seeking an experienced Deputy Head Porter to join the team.
Hours: 3pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £27,000 p/a
Duties:
- Visitors to the Building: All visitors other than bona-fide private callers to flats must be identified and their names recorded together with details such as purpose of visit etc. Do not let in people who wish to deliver leaflets, circulars and other such items.
- You may not hand over keys held for residents to other residents, or to any other person claiming to represent a resident without express permission in writing; nor may you copy or allow to be copied keys belonging to residents.
- If you do accept such parcels or packages you should deliver them as soon as possible. Any delivery note must have the words "unexamined and without liability" added after your signature, as well as the time and date of delivery.
- Residents parking spaces: Care should be taken to ensure that the spaces are only occupied by vehicles authorised by the individual licensees.
- Emergencies: Residents will look to you for assistance at all times as the "person on the spot".
- In cases such as a breakdown of the lift or any other complicated equipment you may well for practical purposes be able to do little more that call out the necessary technical assistance or the Managing Agents. Remain calm and call out the relevant service, e.g. lift, fire, ambulance, gas, electricity, water, police.
- The Managing Agents will notify you when it has authorised works to take place and you should not allow work in the common parts of the building or in connection with any plant or machinery in the buildings unless you have notification from the office that it has been authorised, if a contractor has attended unexpectedly, please call the Managing Agent to confirm their attendance.
- Where appropriate you will be asked to review invoices to confirm attendance and completion of works by contractors prior to payment by Managing Agents.
- You will be required to monitor attendance by contractors in fulfilling their regular scheduled visits, e.g. monthly, quarterly or annually, under the terms of contract and notify Managing Agents of any failure or delayed attendance or failure to complete appropriate documentation and raise any other concerns directly with Managing Agents.
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 2 years experience working as a Residential Concierge/ Porter
- Immaculately presented and articulate
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Personable, always willing to go the extra mile for residents
