Our Client is looking for a Part-time Cleaner / Caretaker to work in a Luxury Residential Building in West London.
Working Hours: Monday to Saturday Sat 8am - 1pm with 15min unpaid break each shift
Salary: £16,000
Annual leave: 20 days plus bank holiday
The Caretaker will be responsible for proper cleaning, appearance, stock, cleaning, security, health and safety and smooth running of the building.
Key responsibilities:
To maintain the internal standards of the communal areas and work closely with the Senior Caretaker and other employed staff within the property to ensure the highest standards at the property is maintained at all times.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Daily rubbish collection of bin bags outside each residential apartments between designated hours (all blocks)
- Daily sweeping of all block entrances
- To notify the Senior Caretaker where works are carried out within individual flats which may require a licence for alteration
- To report any maintenance or breakdowns immediately to the Senior Caretaker and continue to provide updates to both the Senior Caretaker and the residents as required.
Weekly responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect all internal hard surfaces (including mirrors)
- To vacuum and clean all carpets
- Cleaning of stains on carpets
- Dusting and clean of all woodwork (doors, balustrades, skirtings, windowsills etc.)
- Polish all metal/brass furnishings on communal doors and windows
- Clean and polish all intercom panels and front doors to blocks
- Dust all window sills and ledges
- Dusting of flat entrance doors
- Cleaning scuff marks off walls
- Clean garden WC
- Clean basement welfare facilities
Other responsibilities:
- To participate in weekly review meetings with Senior Caretaker
- Sweeping of leaves from entrance ways and any other external areas
- Cleaning of external lights and internal light fittings
Premises:
- To be familiar with all aspects of the site including location of stop cocks (main and individual), shut off points for gas and electricity
- To acquire a working knowledge of the technical equipment such as water pump control panel and access control system, within the building and individual units in order to offer prompt assistance with any defects or malfunctions that may arise
- To be familiar with the house rules, onsite handbook and any other associated documents relating to the site and refer to them as often as required
- Report any breaches of the terms contained within the above documents to the Senior Caretaker
Residents:
- Ensure residents are treated in a respectful, helpful, polite and efficient manner.
- To deal with all queries on site efficiently and professionally and, as appropriate, direct queries to the Senior Caretaker/Managing Agent.
- Complaints from residents to be referred to the Senior Caretaker immediately and all possible assistance must be given.
Security and Health & Safety:
- To maintain the security of the premises and contents by being alert to any potential security risks to the building and facilities, reporting any Health & Safety issues or suspicious activity to the Senior Caretaker.
- To ensure communal corridors and access routes are free of obstruction.
- To co-operate with the Health & Safety Officer, Police, Fire Brigade and any other representatives on all aspects of security, fire and safety, and to take all appropriate action in the case of a break-in, theft or fire.
General:
- To maintain a high standard of personal appearance, including the wearing of supplied uniforms and PPE, which must be kept in a laundered and well pressed condition at all times.
- To participate in staff meetings and 1-2-1s as required by the Managing Agent
- Undertake in-house training as required
- To maintain COSHH qualification at all times (support can be provided if needed)
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Caretaker.
