Our Client is looking for a Partime Caretaker to work between 25-30 hours per week at a luxury development in West Finchley. The weekly hours will vary however you willl be required to work a couple of hours each day (including weekends)
The role requires you to provide excellent customer service, assist with setting up rooms on a daily basis and provide assistance throughout the building.
The Salary will be £11.05 per hour
Responsibilities
- Set up and take down for services and activities, each service and activity will have bespoke set up requirements.
- Opening and closing the building: You will be responsible for carrying out the various tasks required to ensure the building is ready in the mornings and ensure it is closed properly in the evenings.
- General building inspections to include reporting any irregularities found.
- Basic plumbing - unblocking sinks, tap washers, bleeding radiators etc.
- Changing light bulbs, plugs, electric switches etc.
- General carpentry - putting up shelves, furniture repairs etc.
- Constructing furniture for both offices and public places
- Regular inspections of all the building including legionella checks.
- Fitting and changing locks
- Weekly fire alarm testing
- Minor gardening duties
- Cleaning of exterior areas of the building
- Spot cleaning interior building when housekeeping not on site
- Moving of furniture around the building as required
- Salting of driveways and pedestrian walkways as required.
- Ensure all fire exits are clean and clear at all times.
- This is not an exclusive list and the role will vary.
Other general duties:
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in annual appraisal and development review.
- Carry out any other duties and training commensurate with the nature of the post, as may be required by the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the synagogue.
Person Specification
- The ability to carry out work with a high level of accuracy, ensuring attention to detail and effective management of time.
- The ability to work unsupervised and take initiative.
- This is a physically demanding role and thus the right person needs to have a high level of stamina and be capable of moving heavy items around the building.
- Manage and prioritise a wide range of tasks and duties, both complex and routine.
- Work in a professional manner at all times and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, members and external hirers.
- Be able to work as an effective and pro-active member of the Synagogue team.
- Basic computer skills (web browsing and emailing)
- Having a welcoming and helpful approach when dealing with visitors to the building.
- Experience in facility management in a similar environment would be an advantage.
- A drivers license is desirable.
- You must be a team player.
