Description

We are currently looking for an Estate and Facilities Manager for a commercial and residential site in Exeter, Devon.

Full details are as follows:

Salary range £32,500.00 - £35,000.00 per annum based on experience, qualifications and personal qualities as defined by the client

The successful applicant will become the resident estate manager for an award winning development with responsibility for the overall management and budgeting of the estate and the commercial and residential buildings within. Whilst experience and qualifications are very important, personality and presence are a major consideration for the client and will be a major factor for candidates who are shortlisted for a final interview.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5:30pm

Purpose of the position:
- To be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the estate (this means the buildings and associated grounds) including the supervision of all estate staff and contractors, and ensuring all buildings are well maintained and welcoming
- The core purpose of the role will be to support and manage the estate on behalf of the freeholder
- Being responsible for the safe and efficient management, operation and development of all estate-related functions and resources
- Leading on the planning, development and management of site staff resources, including co- ordination and delegation of relevant activities
- Being responsible for developing, reviewing and monitoring estate-related policies to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation

Academic & Trade Qualifications

Essential qualifications:
* 5 GCSE Grade A-C including English and Maths
* Membership of a relevant trade body requiring active career professional development on an annual basis.

Desirable qualifications:
* University Degree in a relevant subject such as Real Estate and Property Management
* Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors - Associate level or above.
* Membership of the Institute of Residential Property Management - Member level or above.
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing - Member Level or above.
* Membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management - Member level or above

Work Experience & Skills Essential experience:
* 3 years' experience in any sector of the Property Industry at a management level.
* Previous demonstrated experience in leading or supervising people.
* Previous demonstrated experience of financial planning and budgeting.

Desirable experience:
* 5+ Years or more experience in residential or commercial property management at a management level.
* 3 Years or more experience managing a team of staff or supervising a small team.
* Extensive demonstrated experience manging high value budgets and the ability to provide detailed financial forecasting for expenditure and future planning.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Staff Management: Lead and develop premises and estates staff to ensure the Estate has an effective, engaged and high performing team with the right skills and experience to deliver a high-quality premises and estates management service.
2. Resource Management: Prepare and maintain work/inspection and testing schedules; standard operating procedures for all maintenance works, inspection and testing of plant, equipment, tools, facilities, vehicles etc. Ensure all estate paperwork is kept secure and up to date.
3. Premises Development and Project Management: Take a leading role regarding the projected organisation and development of the estate.
4. Health & Safety: To be responsible for managing all aspects of health and safety matters within the Estate including risk assessments, health and safety policy, fire safety and emergency planning and ensure appropriately qualified professionals are appointed/consulted.
5. Fire and Security: Ensure that all systems are regularly maintained and tested, appropriate records kept, and all related policies and procedures reviewed and updated.
