Job Description

Our client are looking for a Senior Porter to work at a luxurious old school mansion block in Chelsea.

Salary:
�25,000 dependent on experience.

Shift/Hours
Working 5 days a week on shift pattern from monday - sunday. Weekday hours will be either 07:00-14:00 or 14:00-21:00. The shift pattern also includes weekend working, Saturday 8:00 - 16:00 and Sunday 8:00 to 12:00 on a rota of one week in three.

1.To direct and supervise the work of two porters and any agency staff working on the site. Monitor the performance of the porters, conduct regular reviews of their work and give feedback on areas that should be improved.
2.Ensure the porters are aware of the regulations concerning contractors working on the site, car parking, and restrictions in the lease with regard to major alterations, noise and keeping pets. Ensure all staff are trained to operate the CCTV systems.
3.Ensure security is maintained throughout the site. Keep secure and confidential a record of residents including contact telephone numbers and car registration. Residents keys must always be kept locked in the safe and only given out with the residents authorisation. Ensure there are log books to record keys taken out and when returned, record the times of arrival and departure of any contractors and gardeners working on the site.
4.Working with the two other porters take an equal share in all cleaning duties. Maintain a high standard of cleaning both inside and outside the building noting areas in need of attention. Ensure the paths and drives are swept on a regular basis and keep a record of when all cleaning work is done.
5. Oversee rotas and agree annual leave and overtime. Keep accurate records of annual leave taken and sickness absence. Ensure suitable cover is in place when staff are on holiday.
6. Maintain an effective managerial relationship with staff, so they remain highly motivated and their work reaches the required standard. Set an example for other staff members by being courteous and helpful at all times. Ensure that all staff are trained to be courteous, polite and positive towards residents.
7. Deal with administrative matters relating to management of the building and staff, supervise and monitor the registered mail and ensure all telephone enquiries, messages and deliveries are logged. Work with the Managing Agent to keep them well informed about events and issues that affect the building, particularly those concerning health and safety, residents' complaints, repair requirements etc.
8. Be present in Reception when required to assist with coverage, except when called away on urgent matters relating to the building.
9. Walk round and inspect the site, both building and grounds, on a scheduled daily basis. Ensure that when on duty all porters undertake patrols of the blocks, report anything of concern and issue parking notices to vehicles in breach of parking regulations.
10. Arrange directly with the handyman nominated by the managing agent to deal with minor repairs up to a specified cash limit and be responsible for the management of a petty cash fund.
11. Attend Board Meetings when required.

Experience working in luxury residential apartments is essential. The successful candidate must be able to provide excellent references and be willing to undergo full vetting checks.
