Job Description

Our client is looking for a Porter to work at a luxurious residential building in Clerkenwell, EC1.


Monday to Friday; 8am - 5pm + alternate Saturdays; 8am - 12pm


- As the Porter, you are to assist all residents at all times together with their guests and visitors as and when. It should be remembered that your duty is to the residents as a whole and any assistance given to any individual should not detract from your duties required to the whole.
- Ensure that you are always courteous, polite and positive to residents, guests, suppliers and the public in general.
- Monitor all persons at the property and ensure they have a right to be present.
- To monitor the presence of workmen around the building and supervise their activities to ensure minimum disturbance to residents, and that house rules are adhered to. Daily records to be kept, and report these to the Managing Agent when required.
- Address, where possible, and log any incidents of disrepair and breakdown, including all building defects, e.g. lifts, boilers, plumbing and lighting defects. Report these incidents to the Managing Agent. If unable to address the issues, then contact the relevant contracted suppliers to attend the building to deal with such incidents. Where such defects are considered an emergency, they should be reported immediately to the Emergency Services, e.g. Gas Leak etc. It is crucial that the handyman/Caretaker and the Managing Agent take control of these situations or incidents as they arise and address them in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ideally, you will have the ability to carry out minor repairs in the common part areas. This is would be a useful skill but not essential to the role.
- Report any Health & Safety issues to the Managing Agent, and ensure full safe working practices in the building.
- Maintaining the overall high standard of cleanliness in all communal areas.

Previous experience working in residential apartments is essential. The successful candidate must be able to provide excellent references and be willing to undergo full vetting checks.
