Job Description

We are looking for a Doorman / Porter-Parker to create an exceptional welcome experience for residents and visitors of the building, by providing a luxury doorman service as well as a car valet and porter service. The Doorman / Porter will alternate those duties as per the roster.


Operational Doorman duties:

1. To open car doors, to greet residents and visitors, to open the door to the main lobby and assist with packages / luggage as necessary
2. To collect vehicle keys and arrange valet parking with the porter / parker at the residents' request.
3. To liaise with concierges and porters / parkers to ensure that luggage, parcels and packages are delivered promptly to apartments.
4. To ensure that all callers to the building are greeted in a warm and friendly manner and directed as appropriate.
5. To ensure the privacy and confidentiality of residents, their guests and visitors.
6. To hail taxis as requested by residents / visitors.
7. To liaise with the concierges and direct delivery personnel to the relevant entrances.
8. To ensure that the main entrance and the front of the building are kept at all times in immaculate condition, free of dirt and litter.
9. To ensure that the main entrance is easily accessible to cars and taxis at all times.
10. To have an excellent knowledge of the area to assist residents and visitors with requests for restaurants, shops, public transports, etc.
11. To ensure maximum security of the development and report any breach of security to the senior management or the relevant authorities.
12. To liaise with staff employed by residents (personal assistants, chauffeurs, bodyguards, etc) to ensure a smooth service at the door and accommodate particular requirements.
13. To ensure that umbrellas are available to residents in the event of rain.

Operational Porter / Parker Duties

14. To ensure that luggage, groceries, packages, parcels and newspapers are delivered to and collected from apartments without delay.
15. To collect laundry and refuse from apartments, as requested by residents.
16. To deliver laundry to apartments by adhering to access protocols agreed with residents.
17. To sort the mail in the morning and place it residents post boxes.
18. To run errands as directed by the concierges or the residents.
19. To call lifts for residents and escort to their apartments or provide directions to leisure or other facilities.
20. To carry out floor checks at regular intervals.
21. To ensure that the leisure suite is kept neat and tidy, that towels and water are replenished for residents.
22. To offer a shoe shining service.
23. To park resident vehicles in the basement car park as directed by the doorman.
24. To retrieve resident vehicles from the basement car park and bring them to the main entrance as directed by the concierges or by residents.


25. Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Emergency Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and the development's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
26. Ensure a positive work relationship with colleagues, management and representatives of the freeholder (Berkeley Homes).
27. Attend and contribute to all meetings and trainings scheduled and other related activities.
28. Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by management for the good management of the development.
29. Respond to any changes in the place of work as dictated by the operation.
30. Adaptable and willing to assist in other schemes in the Harrods Estates portfolio.
31. Project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and to exercise self-control.
