Job Description

Day Concierge required for a world-class development, in an unrivalled location within Southwark, SE1.

5 day working week from Thursday to Monday (Tuesdays and Wednesdays off).
Three week rota on the following shifts; 9am to 6pm, 10am to 7pm and 12pm to 9pm.

Tasks

  1. To provide all necessary services to the residents as per the instructions of the Technical Estates Manager. To communicate efficiently with all other members of staff and the residents.
  2. Responsible for the welcoming atmosphere throughout the property.
  3. Responsible for the cleanliness and comfort of the reception area and common parts at all times
  4. During working hours to be located at the reception Concierge desk except when carrying out any required work within the building. The reception desk cannot be left unattended at any time.
  5. At all times to ensure the security of the building is not jeopardised in any way. Main entrance doors will have to be monitored and while at the front desk, you will have to monitor the CCTV feeds.
  6. To assist residents at all times together with their guests and visitors when and where required. It should be remembered that the duty is to the residents as a whole and any assistance given to any individual should not distract from duties required to the whole.
  7. To perform all necessary porter duties. These duties include, but are not limited to: carrying luggage / packages for residents, cleaning duties as and when required.
  8. To receive and distribute all mail. All registered mail and deliveries should be logged before distribution to the individual flats.
  9. To always be courteous, polite and positive to residents, guests, suppliers and the public in general.
  10. To monitor all persons at the property and ensure they have a right to be present.
  11. To answer the telephone and deal with general enquiries. To log messages, requests & events as per the approved procedure by correctly using the tools at your disposal.
  12. To monitor the presence of contractors around the building and supervise their activities to ensure minimum disturbance to residents. This monitoring to be done in accordance with the agreed procedure.
  13. Log and report any incidence of disrepair by using the appropriate procedure / tool at your disposal. Immediately inform the Technical Estates Manager / designated person in their absence. This should include all building defects, plumbing, heating and lighting in the common parts, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. Where such defects are considered an emergency they should be reported immediately and follow the emergency procedures as approved.
  14. Report and monitor health and safety issues and ensure a full safe working practice.
  15. Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Technical Estates Manager.
  16. Conform to any house rule as issued from time to time by the Technical Estates Manager and/or the Management Company.

Professional experience and personal skills profile

  • Experience in 5 star environment;
  • Confident with dealing with VIPs;
  • Ability to take ownership of an operation when alone;
  • Professional, precise, courteous and dedicated;
  • Positive attitude

Career Experience and Qualifications Required

  • At least 3 years' experience in a front of house role in a luxury residential environment where there has been regular dealings with VIPs and exacting requests;
  • Excellent Customer Services experience.
  • IOSH qualification preferred

Particular Aptitudes/Skills Required

  • Team Player; Experience in 5 star environment;
  • Confident with dealing with VIPs;
  • Ability to take ownership of an operation when alone;
  • Professional, precise, courteous and dedicated;
  • Positive attitude
