Our client is a major player in its sector, assisting people in difficulty with property related debts.
They work with a range of lenders in finding solutions to solve debt problems, where the borrower has fallen behind in making their mortgage payments.
Their clients are major high street banks and building societies and so they are indirectly regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, therefore all applicants must be aware that if successful, they will be subject to a background check and ongoing vetting of their conduct.
As a Senior Case Handler, you will monitor the work of 2-4 Case Handlers and ensure their compliance with the company's and the clients' procedures.
You will also manage a case load of your own, liaising with a range of parties, from banks and mortgage companies to solicitors, landlords, managing agents and the borrowers themselves; you would typically deal with 40-60 cases at one time.
You will use a range of possible solutions to solve the debt problem, which may range from re-scheduling repayments, to a rental solution, or in the last resort, a sale of the borrower's property
You will be expected to deal with borrowers sympathetically, yet ensuring that the client's long term financial interests are protected.
You must be have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be effective at time management and have a consistently high level of drive to see cases through to a conclusion.
You will also be expected to show sound problem-solving abilities.
You must be IT literate and experienced in using Outlook and Word.
The firm has their own bespoke contact management system, but previous experience on a similar system would be helpful.
Candidates with an understanding of debt management, property or insolvency would be preferred, but this knowledge is not essential, if a candidate shows sufficient drive and motivation.
We are seeking candidates with at least 5 GCSE's at grades A-C, including Maths & English.
Education to 'A'-Level is also preferred, as would be a degree level qualification, however this is not essential.
The hours of work are 0915-1700 M-F with 28 days holiday.
