Our client is currently seeking a Building Service Engineer to join the team at a luxury residential student accomodation development in Aldgate.
Salary: 33,500, rising to 35,000 after 6 months.
Days: Monday - Friday
.To carry out repairs and maintenance and minor re-decoration at Host as required.
.To inspect repairs reported by residents on site prior to notifying the Hall Manager.
.General litter picking and refuse disposal in and around the Hall and grounds and to keep the refuse areas clean at all times.
.To maintain landscaped areas and courtyard as directed by the Hall Management.
.General porterage including the movement of goods in, furniture, kitchen equipment and other heavy items.
.Regular inspections of all residential accommodation for the purpose of verifying residents' Health & Safety, checking for damage or misuse of facilities and for the maintenance of correct standards of cleanliness, hygiene and provision.
.Maintaining adequate arrangements for security and safety including the inspection of fire fighting equipment and detectors and the enforcement of safety procedures in emergency situations.
.To inform the Hall management of any equipment that has been tampered with.
.Maintaining adequate arrangements for the removal of refuse and to keep the refuse area clean. Ensuring the general tidiness of the surrounding land, courtyard and car park.
.To ensure that the site is secure at all times. Ensuring safe access to buildings at all times.
.Receiving and the distribution of mail for residents.
.Maintain a log of all materials and requisites for your duties and advise the Hall Management as required.
.To maintain an up to date diary of all events/incidents on the complex and report to Hall manager as necessary.
.To liase, give access, and monitor the work of all contractors/ operatives/ tradespeople to ensure performance is consistent with the appropriate standards laid down and to notify the Hall Manager in all cases of non-compliance.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
.Qualified electrician with City & Guilds 2330 NVQ Level 3 to demonstrate work based experience (or equivalent qualification).
.Demonstrable understanding of BS7671.
.Ideally City & Guilds 2394 & 2395 qualified (or equivalent qualification) .
.Experience and understanding of HVAC Systems.
.Understanding and experience in all areas of planned and reactive maintenance.
.Strong understanding of statutory compliance.
.Strong awareness and understanding of Health and Safety.
.Proven ability to manage contractors.
Previous experience working in maintenance focused roles is essential and a background working in luxury residential buildings would be desirable.
