Job Description

Our client is seeking a Building Manager to supervise the day to day running and maintenance of a development based in South East London.

Hours of work:

Monday - Friday (8am-5pm)

Main Duties:

* Ensure that Systems are up to date and complete at all times.

* Ensure all Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and annual checklists are complete and uploaded onto the required systems.

* Ensure that high standards of property presentation are achieved and maintained at all times.

* Ensure best value is being achieved by analysing, auditing and proposing improvements to the existing property management systems in operation.

* Evaluate existing contractual relationships, and ensure that the tenants are receiving best value.

* Your duties will also include the upload of checklists and other documents onto the system.

* Create and maintain an effective working relationship with existing suppliers.

* Ensure and implement best practice whilst ensuring safe working practices are complied with at all times.

* Ensure appropriate clear communication lines are established and maintained.

* Ensure compliance with all procedures and polices, including health and safety, COSHH and environmental matters.

* Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and codes of practice, health and safety requirements.
* Establishing and developing good relations and partnerships with various authorities and local agencies, notable:
* Conduct performance reviews in line with Savills policy procedures identifying personal and skill based training requirements on an individual basis. Ensure that a training plan is identified and managed.
* As a member of the Management team, manage and liaise with all management technical and administration staff on strategic and operation/service delivery issues towards achievement of their goals.

Candidate specification:

* Self motivated, able to work on own initiative.

* Ability to deal with challenging situations and complaints in a professional manner.

* Excellent managerial and inter-personal skills, a proven track record in managing change, general experience in managing budgets, good strategic vision and a strong commitment to customer service are vital.

* Prior experience of the management of mixed use schemed to include commercial and residential property but predominantly residential.

* Experience in the supervision of contractors.

* Good understanding of property management and related regulations.

* Understanding of conflict and how to resolve them.

* Excellent communications skills and ability to liaise on all levels.

* Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

* A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislative health & safety requirements.

* Good time management skills able to respond to client/contract deadlines.

* Experience of direct liaison with Police, Fire and Government Enforcement officers.

* The candidate attributes detailed above are considered to be non essential although training will be provided on more technical aspects of the role.
