Job Description

Our client is managing a new residential development in Liverpool city centre.

The development is a mixed-use scheme that consists of private rented and student accomodation.

They require four Night Concierges to work a shift system at one of two nearby sites.


The Concierge is to act as a custodian of the building. They are to foster good relations with the residents and ensure that the site is managed to a high standard alongside, their on site team colleagues.

Their first priority at all times is the security, health and safety of the residents, their colleagues and visitors.


You are employed on a Night Shift duty, from 1900hrs-0700hrs, 4 nights on/4 nights off, this is an average 42 hour week. During your shift you are entitled to a paid one hour break, which you are expected to take on-site.


Site Management

To take responsibility for the presentation, cleanliness and safety of all the public areas.
To interact with residents in a courteous, professional and helpful manner at all times.
To ensure that any breaches of security or damage is reported to the Community Manager.

Site Presentation

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the Concierge areas at all times, specifically in relation to desks, glazing, floors, deliveries and lighting. All defects are to be recorded and reported to the Community Manager on a daily basis. Any flyers or similar items are to be placed in an appropriate location and be of an appropriate standard.

Personal hygiene and presentation, including uniforms are to be maintained to the highest standards at all times. You must wear a suit, white shirt, tie and shoes not trainers. Shirts should be ironed and shoes polished. You should be cleanly shaven and hair well groomed. You will be expected to wear your name badge at all times whilst on duty.

The Concierge office is a place of business. Food must not be consumed behind the desk; neither must jackets or coats be strung over the chairs. When residents ask for assistance you should stand up and engage professionally with them.

To ensure the building frontage is kept clean and tidy.

Record Keeping

To provide and maintain an up to date log book or register, be it paper or PC-based, to record all site issues as they arise but dealing specifically with the following;

Key holding and usage by contractors
A record of patrols and issues found on those patrols
Visitors to communal areas
Planned visits/permissions given to contractors within communal area
Parcels and recorded deliveries.
Temporary car park spaces issued.
Health & Safety compliance in accordance with company policy

Key Holding

Correctly log and maintain key records as per site instructions.


Be aware and responsible for all visitors and contractors on site.
Regularly monitor all CCTV and access control systems.
Patrol at regular intervals, checking all doors and external gates.
Report any faults in the access/fire/CCTV systems to the Community Manager.
Report any health & safety, communal/building defect from patrols.
Regularly check the access control systems for lost/stolen cards/fobs.
Report any damage to the building, or damage to residents' possessions in public areas to the Community Manager.

Management of site contractors

Ensuring any visiting contractors sign in and out from site and abide by the site instructions, reporting any breaches to the Community Manager.

M & E Services

To follow all site instructions regarding defects that arise in water, electrical and other plant during their shift.

Resident Liaison/ Customer Service

You are expected to form courteous and professional relationships with residents.
You may not perform any private work for any resident, either inside or outside your working time.

Please note that any successful candidates will be required to pass an Enhanced DBS Check, due to the fact that you will have contact with young people and vulnerable adults.
