Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Handyperson to join the team at a large luxury residential development in Catford, South East London. Working hours will be Monday to Friday from 08:00-16:00 and Saturday from 08:00-13:30.


- To inspect the building for cleanliness, repairs and security.
- Ensure all external doors, windows, fire exit doors, plant room doors and bin store doors are kept closed/locked at all times.
- Inspect all common parts, replace light bulbs where necessary.
- Keep note in log book of all faults reported by residents.
- Inspect common areas for any obstructions or hazards and ensure appropriate action is taken to remedy.
- To check the operation of all lifts and report any faults.
- Visual inspection of all drains and gutters to ensure they are free from rubbish/debris.
- Check locks of all communal doors and gates to ensure they are fully functioning.
- Ensure refuse chute is not blocked.
- To be courteous and helpful to all residents as well as to residents guests and contractors employed by residents.
- Prepare and keep an inventory of tools and equipment on site. To generally maintain records of central stores for the building (light bulbs, keys etc.) in a well organised way, ensuring that an appropriate quantity are always available.
- To be flexible and undertake duties, within reason, as required by the Building Manager.
- Regular testing of smoke/fire alarms and emergency lights.
- Be aware of any unusual damage and report any damage to the Building Manager.
- Carry out maintenance work around the development as instructed by senior management.
