Job Description

Our client is looking for a team of 7 Housekeeper/Cleaners to work at a new group of private developments in the City Centre.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To clean to a high standard all internal common areas as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, or the Community Manager.

HOURS OF WORK

We are keen to make this role attractive to candidates with caring and/or childcare responsibilities, so there is some flexibility in start/finish times.

You will be expected to work 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day from Mon-Fri.

You will not be required to work Bank Holidays, which will count as paid annual leave.

HOLIDAYS

After the deduction of paid Bank Holidays you will have a further 20 days Annual Leave.

It will be a requirement of the job that you may only take this Annual Leave during the holidays of the University of Liverpool, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are to be carried out, however, this list is not exhaustive as there may be other tasks which you will be required to undertake from time to time.

Daily Duties

1. Clean and polish entrance doors and door furniture.
2. Thoroughly clean and polish all reception furniture, fittings, fixtures and equipment.
3. Clean lift car interiors, including mirrors, call panels, telephone handset and door surfaces. Vacuum lift car carpets.
4. Dust all skirtings, ledges, cills, radiators and fixtures to hand height.
5. Empty, clean and replace waste bins.
6. Vacuum all carpets.
7. Clean and polish mirrors and pictures.
8. Sweep all hard floors and spot mop.
9. Thoroughly clean and disinfect all sanitary wear and fittings.
10. Report any defects, damage or security concerns to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Concierge.
11. Report any defective light bulbs to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Concierge.

Weekly Duties

1. Dust all surfaces to hand height, removing marks as they occur.
2. Wash, rinse and dry all hard floors.
3. Brush carpet edges.
4. Remove entrance mats and vacuum mat well.
5. Vacuum all soft furnishings.
6. Spot clean stains on carpets.

GENERAL

You are expected to be flexible and undertake reasonable additional duties as required by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Community Manager.

To report any defect or health and safety concern, no matter what its nature, to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

You must follow any Health and Safety instructions that you are given, particularly with regard to COSHH regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective equipment.

Whilst on duty you should be of tidy personal appearance, and wearing the uniform and identification badge provided.

You should refrain from smoking, swearing or shouting, being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, behaving unsociably, watching TV, sleeping, eating, congregating with others or conducting yourself in a manner deemed unsuitable by members of senior staff.

You may not carry out private work for any resident at any time whilst in this employment.

It is a condition of any employment offer, that you pass an Enhanced DBS Check, as the role will bring you into contact with young people and vulnerable adults.
